1. Fundraising & Development

Help secure financial support through grant writing, donor outreach, and fundraising events.
Assist with event planning and sponsorship coordination.
Research potential funding sources and create campaign materials.
Work directly with our fundraising consultant to execute our annual fundraising plan.
2. Community & Gratitude Outreach

Build relationships with local businesses, schools, and faith groups to increase awareness.
Liaison between existing and new community partnerships.
Coordinate thank-you notes and appreciation events for donors and volunteers.
Represent Jenkintown Food Cupboard at community events and networking opportunities.
3. Inventory & Acquisition

Organize, restock, and maintain food supplies at the cupboard.
Assist in sorting and categorizing food donations for efficient distribution.
Pick up food donations from local grocery stores, farms, or warehouses.
4. Volunteer Management

Help recruit, schedule, and train new volunteers.
Maintain volunteer records and assist with check-ins for shifts.
Plan volunteer appreciation activities and ensure a welcoming experience.
5. Patron Services
β Set Shifts Available | Some Physical Activity | π On-Site (Jenkintown)
Greet and assist patrons during food distribution hours.
Help individuals select food and provide basic information on available resources.
Ensure a dignified and supportive experience for all visitors.
Coordinate administration on intake forms, supplemental forms, and state reporting initiatives.
6. Office Administration

Assist with data entry, phone calls, and general administrative support.
Organize files, schedule meetings, and support reporting needs.
Provide clerical support for grants, fundraising, and donor management.
Coordinate efforts to create consistency on-site including prep/support for safety signage, inventory print outs, and other instructional materials.
7. Driving & Delivery

Pick up food donations and transport goods to the Food Cupboard.
Transport foods from the JFC to local partner agencies.
Deliver food boxes to homebound patrons when needed.
Must have a valid driverβs license, access to a vehicle recommended.
8. Media Development
β Flexible Hours | Non-physical/sedentary | π WFH & On-Site (Jenkintown)
Support social media, website updates, and content creation.
Capture photos and stories highlighting volunteers and patrons.
Create flyers, newsletters, and promotional materials for events.
9. Farming/Gardening Programs
β Seasonal & Flexible Hours | Physical (lifting required) | π On-Site (Local Farms & Gardens)
Assist with growing fresh produce at our Wyncote and Hatfield farming partners.
Support partnerships with local farms and community gardens.
Participate in harvesting, planting, and maintenance activities at our partner spaces (Lighthouse Fellowship Garden, KI Greenhouse, Wyncote Farms, GOH- Hatfield).
